Cullman Regional Women’s Diagnostic Center is now making it more convenient for area women to get their annual screening mammograms by offering Saturday services.

“We realize that many women are juggling jobs, kids, activities and life,” said Cullman Regional Imaging Director Genia Sutton. “We want to make it more convenient for local women to make their health a priority.”

According to the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention, nearly 40 percent of women over the age of 40 haven’t had an annual mammogram within the past two years. The American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) continue to recommend screening mammograms every year for women age 40 and older. The ACOG says breast self-awareness has the potential to detect palpable breast cancer and therefore can be recommended and they also recommend clinical breast exams should be conducted every year for women age 19 or older.

Cullman Regional Women’s Diagnostic Center offers Saturday mammography in order to keep the important women in our lives healthy.
