Chronic pain is any pain that continues for more than three to six months. Over 50 million Americans suffer from chronic pain each year, and another 25 million experience acute pain caused by injury or surgery. The most common types of chronic pain include lower back pain, headaches and migraines, neck pain and facial pain.

In honor of Pain Awareness Month, Cullman Regional would like to recognize the staff and physicians of its Medical Day Hospital and Pain Clinic. The Med Day and Pain Clinic team includes nurses, radiology techs, patient care assistants, unit secretaries and office staff, as well as physicians, nurse practitioners and nurse anesthetists. This team can help you manage your pain, whether acute or chronic, to achieve a more normal, productive lifestyle through multidisciplinary outpatient services. We provide medical management by physicians specializing in anesthesiology, physical medicine and rehabilitation. Combined with input from nursing, physical and occupational therapy professionals, this approach means you receive a thorough evaluation to determine the best treatment options and plan of care to help manage your pain.

Our Medical Day and Pain Clinic staff have years of clinical experience and patients are given individualized care based on their needs. The office staff is available to work one-on-one with patients and physician offices to have patient procedures scheduled and completed in a timely manner.

Cullman Regional’s Pain Clinic is located on the first floor of the main hospital and is available by appointment. Self-referrals are also allowed. For more information, click here or call the Pain Clinic at 256-737-2235.
