Did you know that one in four U.S. adults have some type of sleep problem? From fatigue and slowed reflexes to impaired mental acuity and even depression, lack of restful and restorative sleep can affect every aspect of a person’s life. If you are one of the more than 100 million Americans who has trouble sleeping, help is closer than you may think.

In honor of Sleep Technologist Week, we would like to recognize our Sleep Tech and CPAP Care Center teams at Cullman Regional. This team includes Registered Polysomnographers, Polysomnographer Technicians, Registered Respiratory Therapists and clerical staff. The Cullman Regional Sleep Disorders Center offers comprehensive diagnostics and treatment of sleep-related problems. Testing offered by the Sleep Disorders Center includes polysomnography, multiple sleep latency, maintenance of wakefulness, positive airway pressure and electroencephalography.

The Sleep Disorders Center is accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and has two-board certified sleep physicians who have extensive experience in helping patients find the valuable rest they’ve been missing. Our Sleep Disorders Center also serves as a preceptor site for students in the Sleep program at Wallace State Community College.

Cullman Regional’s CPAP Care Center is a specialty store with supplies and accessories for CPAP, BiPAP and AutoPAP therapy. Here, you’ll find a large selection of sleep therapy devices and accessories. The Cullman Regional CPAP Care Center is accredited by The Joint Commission and meets all Medicare standards.

CPAP, or continuous positive airway pressure, is a treatment using mild air pressure to keep your airways open. CPAP typically is recommended for people with breathing problems, such as sleep apnea. Our staff will assist you with set-up, billing, mask fitting, counseling and compliance monitoring. We have a CPAP specialist on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week to assist with issues as they arise.

The Cullman Regional Sleep Disorders Center is available Monday-Thursday from 8 am – 5pm and   Friday from 8 am – 12 pm for regular office hours. Sleep testing hours are Monday – Thursday from 8:45 pm – 6:30 am. The CPAP Care Center is open Monday – Friday from 8am – 5pm.
