Since 1939, Cullman Regional has been a vital part of the North Alabama region, and for decades, people in the community have depended on the hospital for comprehensive healthcare and its highly specialized services.
Experience Our New 5th Floor
The 15,264 square-foot addition includes 30 patient beds, a central nurses station and a family waiting room. All new rooms offer windows with sweeping views — some highlighting Lake Catoma. The 5th floor rooms feature tiled bathrooms with showers, allowing patients to experience a serene atmosphere for their recovery.
Overview of the Expansion Project
Cullman Regional Medical Center is a 175-bed medical center that is owned and operated by the Health Care Authority of Cullman County that serves more than 175,000 residents in a six-county area and is recognized as one of the region’s finest medical facilities. The $20 million expansion project began in January of 2017.
The project has a significant economic impact in the community by adding 100 permanent jobs when peak capacity is achieved. The 5th floor was designed by TRO Jung Brannen architects and was constructed by Doster Construction Company who both have extensive experience with healthcare building projects.
As one of the largest Emergency Departments in the Cullman region and a level llI Trauma Center, Cullman Regional sees over 7,800 patient admissions a year and cares for nearly 50,000 emergency patients.

Today, Cullman Regional is investing more than $22 million in the health of the community through the construction of a major hospital expansion project to meet the needs of a growing community, and to ensure an even higher level of care and service. Scheduled to be completed in 2018, the expansion and renovation project will give Cullman Regional the ability to better serve the region by improving access to healthcare with a total capacity of 175 acute-care hospital beds.
