Our team of experienced, board-certified neonatologists and neonatal nurse practitioners provide advanced newborn and infant care for babies born in the Maternity Center and infants brought to Cullman Regional ER.
The NICU uses advanced equipment and technology that enables our neonatal team to carefully and constantly monitor vital signs and quickly intervene with specialized care when needed. This can include babies who need support with oxygen, blood glucose levels and elevated bilirubin. Premature and low-birth weight babies sometimes just need time in the NICU to grow bigger and learn to feed.
Parents are supported by our expert team throughout their baby’s NICU stay and are encouraged to participate in the baby’s care including feeding. Our team also prioritizes clear communication with parents and is available to answer questions 24/7.
