Pediatrics

Caring for children is different than caring for adults. It takes special knowledge and training as well as a coordinated program to ensure that care is consistent in all areas of service. At Cullman Regional, our pediatrics program includes multiple services and care teams.

Neonatal ICU

With a dedicated neonatology team on site in our NICU, most newborns who need more advanced care after delivery do not need to be transferred to another facility. This means mom and baby stay at the same hospital. Even after mom goes home, parents can visit their newborns in the NICU.

Pediatric Clinic

With three board-certified pediatricians, Cullman Regional Medical Group Pediatric Clinic accommodates scheduled appointments for well and sick visits. Walk-in patients are also welcome when the need is urgent.

Pediatric Hospitalist Program

The pediatric hospitalist program provides specialized care for children in the hospital and who visit the ER. Our team of physicians are all board-certified in pediatrics or family medicine and are on call 24/7.

COACHES Program Participant

Clinical staff in Cullman Regional ER and on our inpatient pediatric unit participate in UAB Children’s of Alabama Community Healthcare Education Simulation (COACHES) program. By enhancing our pediatric clinical capabilities throughout the hospital, children can receive high-quality specialized care without having to travel to Huntsville or Birmingham.
